And me, thought Peggy, pawing her friend’s leg.

“You can play too, Peggy,” said Chloe. “But you need to be gentle.” She set Coco down on the grass.

“Hi,” said Peggy.

The bunny stared at her, quivering.

“You’re lucky, Coco,” said Chloe, stroking the rabbit’s fluffy back. “You don’t have to share your hutch with anyone.”

But Peggy wondered whether Coco was missing her brothers. Maybe her hutch felt lonely without her four siblings to snuggle up with. Peggy had really missed her brothers and sisters when she’d first left them.

The poor little thing is probably homesick, she thought, remembering all the fun games she used to play with Pablo, Paddy, Pippa, and Polly.

“Hey, Coco,” Peggy said. “Want to play tug-of-war?”

“I-I don’t know how,” said the bunny so quietly that Peggy could barely hear it.

“Well, how about hide-and-seek?” she suggested.

“I don’t know that one either,” whispered Coco.

“Chase?” Peggy tried again.

The bunny shook her head.

“It’s easy and really fun,” said Peggy. “I can teach you—” She batted the bunny with her paw and barked, “Tag! You’re it!”
